At Nokia we had dedicated roles on design teams for people to focus solely on prototyping. I find it most rewarding to jump into the process myself and become a prototype for a day or two because it helps clarify a lot of design thinking early and quickly. First impressions — the new MacBook Pro for design work

My 6 year old MacBook Pro got a tad too slow for me this year and I decided that it’s time for an upgrade. Luckily Apple decided to tempt me with the new 15 inch MacBook Pro with TouchBar. After I got the new laptop a lot of people casually asked how I’m liking the new machine. My answer to them was ‘it’s complicated’. So I wrote this to elaborate from the perspective of a professional designer and photographer on how the new Mac has been treating me.
